In a water-stressed world, conservation is engineering’s highest calling.

Water is the quiet crisis behind much of modern agriculture, and the recognition celebrated systems built to confront it directly. By capturing, filtering, and recirculating nearly every drop, the designs cut freshwater demand to a fraction of conventional growing.

The judges noted that the impact compounds across installations: a saving that looks modest in one greenhouse becomes enormous across hundreds. In water-stressed regions, that difference can decide whether growing is viable at all.

For the sustainability team, the award affirmed a conviction they have held from the beginning - that the most important resource in any facility is the one you manage not to waste.
